InfoMy name is Inga Kramer-Haantjes and my profession is being a graphic artist. An educationat at the Institute of Arts in Amsterdam (the current Rietveld Academy) was followed by me with a specialisation in typographical/graphical design. After finishing my studyperiod I worked at several commercial companies for a period of time. After a while I I became a freelance graphical designer and illustrator for, among others, magazines and educational publishers. Let's return to the typographics. During my studyperiod I have learned type setting and printing. After years I took up this form of 'arts and crafts' again. At my (homebased) studio I use a Korrex Testing Press (1965) and I have several slates with lead characters, copper lining and ornaments. With this material I create 'cahiers' (notebooks) in limited publications. However, graphics (linoleum carvings) and different forms of text (poetry) form the main ingredients for my projects, my 'Bibliofile Cahiers'. I also take part in art manifestations and expositions on a regular basis. A few examples are the Klaasmarkt in Amstelveen, printing project celebrating the 150 year aniversiry of the Provinsjale Biblioteek Fryslân in Leeuwarden (Ljouwert) and the exposition: 'neue Buchkunst aus den Niederlanden' in Kunsthaus Horn in Horn, Austria. |
